What you need:
Any mobile phone,
which has voice recorder function,
usually recording will be in AMR format 12.2 kbps (more info),
space required for 1 hour of recording is about 6Mb.
Or
Audio recorders,
like Creative, Samsung, Elson, iRiver, etc
Recording format is usually selectable, (more info),
Mp3 format with 8 kbps is basically enough for voice recording,
space required for 1 hour of recording is about 4Mb.
Best recording bit rate is 64 kbps (high quality sound).
For playing from PC, car or home Mp3 Players:
After editing using editing software, save in 32 kbps (mono),
space required would be 15Mb per hour.
How to transfer the sound file to PC:
Connect the recording device to PC by:
provided cable or
Bluetooth connection or
Transfer SD card to PC card reader slot

How to share large files over the internet:
There are many free website offering file sharing:
eg: www.yousendit.com
The uploaded file will be issued with an unique URL (link). You can send the URL in emails by copy and pasting. The email recipients would be able to download your files by clicking the URL. These URLs can be placed in a free web site too.
The trouble with the free sites is that the file stored days are limited and advertisement banners would pop up — which may be offensive.
